1960 New York Map-Off topic

I bought this off of ebay for a few bucks and loved it because my husband and I went to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon 2 years ago. This is a 1960 Esso New York map.

Does anyone have an idea of what I can do with this, either frame it etc?

My thrift shop finds

I bought this whole set of Spring Blossom Pyrex mixing bowls at Savers this past weekend.

#401 1.5 Pt for 0.99 cents

#402 1.5 Qt for $1.99

#403 2.5 Qt for $2.99

#404 4 Qt for $4.99!

All in excellent condition and the whole set was only $10.96!!!! I love that feeling of success!

This pattern is "Blue Heaven". I have the matching dinnerware set by Royal china made in the 1950's.

I did some research on this set because it is not marked on the bottom. I was confused and wanted to know who made this. Was it Royal China just not marked? Or Pyrex? Or even Anchor Hocking?

I found the following information on Pyrex Love.com

The Fire King ovenware IS listed in the Florence's book. "Blue Heaven" dates from the 1970's and was produced on items like casseroles, loaf pans, bowls and mugs.

The pattern is not marked on the bottom which leads many people to guess that Blue Heaven was made by Pyrex.

The pattern consists of retro abstract geometric shapes in the brown and blue.

The best way to tell this is Fire King is the tab handles and just knowing the pattern.

So I believe that this is by Fire King just not marked. I bought the Pie Plate at RWB for only $2.95!

And luckily the custard cups I bought at another store! I bought 6 custard cups at GW for $2.00 each!

All in excellent condition and I can't wait to use them.

I spotted this Pie plate made by Anchor Hocking Fire King with it's original label in MINT condition!

I bought it at GW for only $3.00. I love how the label is still intact!

It is stamped on the back "460 T.M. REG FIRE-KING Made in the u.s.a. 9in"

I believe this is from the period 1942-1945 

by the block lettering FIRE-KING

Any body know any info ??

I found these at RWB for $3.95 each.

I have never seen these before. The pattern is called "Colonial Mist" clear mixing bowls.

I found some info as always on Pyrexlove.com about these bowls.

The following info is by Pyrex Love:

This is an interesting set of newer bowls featuring the Colonial Mist pattern which is also sometimes called "French Daisy" or "Floral Daisy". These are newer bowls that are different in shape than the standard 400 series bowls.

They have a definite "lip" around the rim that characterizes new bowls and they have a "bullseye" set of concentric circles on the bottom. The sizes are  1L, 1.5 L, 2.5 L, and 4 L.

I also found some other information on another site called Corellecorner.com:

During mid 1988, the design returned with clear Pyrex rimmed nesting bowls and a new name.

Although it is identical to Colonial Mist, it is officially named "White Lace" when it appears on the clear glass.

So I will go by the name "White Lace" and it is from the 1980's.

I have been looking all over for "chili bowls" or "French Onion soup bowls" for some time now!

Ever since I went to this antique center in CT where they had an awesome restaurant in the antique place! I ordered Butternut squash soup and they served it in these awesome Soup bowls with a handle and lid.

I thought they were so cute that I have been looking for them ever since.

I only found 1 sadly at GW for $2.00. There is no markings on the bottom and was wondering if anyone knows who made these so I can look for some on ebay?

I usually do not like what I call "70's brown" but it caught my eye. I knew it was by Hull Pottery by the knob on the top and soon to be hold I checked the bottom and it says HP CO. Oven Proof USA.

It is in MINT condition. It is called a "Drip casserole dish". I love it and I snatched it up for $5.95 which is a great price for Hull Pottery!

The Brown Drip Hull Pottery was produced from the 1960's-1980's.

Does anyone know what exact year this is from?

This pattern is called "Old Orchard" made by Pyrex.

This is the 4 Qt cinderella mixing bowl. I picked this up at RWB for $3.95!

No scratches or chips or metal marks in excellent condition.

I thought the browns are good for thanksgiving so i grabbed it.

I bought this whole set at an antique store! BUT it was for a good price! I have been wanting Lustre ware by Fire king for awhile and saw it at an antique store in CT.

I got the Pie plate by fire king for $5.00

and the 4 custard cups @ $2.00 each! 

I thought that was a very good price especially for an antique center.

I got these two "Jadite" mugs at GW for $1.00 each! There is no stamping on the bottom so I am not sure if they are made by Fire King? 

I need some info on these!

Pyrex on All in the family!

I adore this show. I have all 9 seasons of it and watch it all the time, and last night I was watching the episode "Draft Dodger" and saw Pyrex yes Pyrex on it! I got these pictures from the episode.
They are using the pattern "Spring Blossom 1".

Tomorrow I will be thrifting!

It is my favorite holiday and time of year and I will be thrifting tomorrow on a lovely fall day.
Tomorrow I will also be on the hunt for "vintage" clothing, as I read to look on the halloween racks at the thrift stores because they put them in that section, and also to look out for vintage halloween lamps, I love them. If I do not find them, I will buy some from eBay.

Waited all week for tomorrow's hunt!

Promotional Casserole "Golden Tulip"

I found this at RWB this past weekend. I liked the pattern but it was badly scratched. I bought it anyway because I would be able to take these out with The Magic Eraser & a little bit of Bar Keepers Friend.
I brought it home and did just that and it came out beautiful! Like brand new.
This came without the lid or cradle which it is suppose to have with it.
After I cleaned it, I looked on Pyrex Love and found out that it is a promotional piece.
 It came out in 1959 for only that year. Not a lot of info on it.


Now I need to get the lid to it.

Pyrex on Mad men!

Well, I love the show Mad Men. The whole show goes back in time. And from time to time you see Vintage Pyrex on it, which is so awesome!

Don't ya just love this show? =)

Finally, my finds!

I went to local thrift shops this Friday & Saturday , I found a lot of unique things...




First is this Anchor Hocking Fire king Loaf dish, Pattern is called "Primrose". I saw it at a GW I stopped at, and I loved the pink and red combination. I have never seen this pattern before and picked it up for $2.00. The strange thing about this piece is that my husband noticed the spelling in the back was spelled upside down, so it is a misprint...wonder if that means this piece is more rare? or more valuable?

I found this set below at RWB thrift. I got this Butterfly Gold set for $7.95, there was a couple of pieces that I had to throw out because they were chipped and discolored, other than that the rest are perfect!

I found this set at Savers yesterday, I got 8 dinner plates for $4.99, 8 cereal bowls for $4.99 & Platter for $2.99. It was a great find!

Now here is all of my Butterfly Gold plates sitting on my bakers rack. Awesome isn't it?!

I picked up these 6 lunch plates at RWB, I got them for $3.95 for all!!

I could not see the makers mark because the masking tape was hiding it.

It says on the back Mexico 5. I researched it and it turns out it was a company in Mexico that was a company by the name Termocrisa. They made plates to resemble Anchor Hocking Fire King. But these plates were very well made and are still beautiful! 

This pattern I found out is from the 60's.

I found these plates at a local GW 2 weeks ago. 

These are by Anchor Hocking Fire King, I bought these for $1.95 a piece, there was only 2 left.

I found these beauties at Savers. I was so excited because this is my first pattern that I have of Gooseberry. I have never ran across it till now.

The 4 Qt. mixing bowl was $2.99, 2.5 Qt. was $1.99 & the 1 1/2 Pt. was 0.99 cents!

Is this color rare? Because I know the pink and white is more common and have never seen this color scheme in person.

I found this turquoise bowl at RWB. It is by Pyrex but I am not sure what year it came out, I know nothing about this! Anyone have any info???

This is a new pattern for me by Glasbake. I love the color of it! Not sure of the name of the pattern? and how old?

These three are awesome! I found the coffee holder at RWB, got it for $2.95! I love the color scheme! It is so cute.

Found this Pyrex "Square Flowers". Seems to be a casserole dish without the lid.  I got this for $2.95 Anybody know any more info on this?

And the bottom I believe is the "Verde" pattern. (Without the lid) it is an oval casserole bowl.

I bought this for $1.99 at Savers

I bought this 2 weeks ago at a GW for $1.99!! It is the "snowflake" pattern by Pyrex. It is called a Space Saver

I also got the one on the bottom (right) with the lid at RWB for $12.95.

I found yesterday at GW, the Snowflake casserole (not divided) for $3.00

and the Divided casserole without the lid for $1.99. This pattern I am loving so far, but I have not found the white on Turquoise 

I found these last weekend at RWB. I was so excited, although I do have this whole set already I just love this pattern.

I bought them anyway, the 4 Qt was $4.95 and the 2.5 Qt was $1.99. The white one is somewhat faded but still nice!

I have this whole pattern expect for the casserole dishes.

I found these yesterday at a GW. They are so nice! They are by Fire King by Anchor Hocking.

They have the original labels still on all the items!!!! I do not even know if I want to use them because I do not want to take them off!!!

I got these for $4.99 for the whole set.

There is no makers mark on this, does anyone know of the company that put this pattern out???

This pattern "Candleglow" (below) is by anchor hocking fire king. Not sure of the patterns name?

I got this for $2.95. Both are loaf dishes.

I found this unique item at RWB in the furniture section. It is an end table, and in the glass is a needlepoint I believe of fruit! Seems like someone did this on their own, unless it was manufactured  Does anyone know about this type of end table?

I love fruit so I had to have it. It has a few scratches on it but my husband can restore it.

I got this for only $4.95!!!

Well I just love fruit! And found a lot of it! I got this fruit bowl with the decals on it and inside it at Savers for 2.99 it is made in France. Not sure if this is vintage or new?

and I found this at RWB for $2.95. It is made from Israel. This company Naaman? seems to be expensive from the looks of it on eBay. Any info?
